Paris Restaurant
Traci and Alan go out for dinner together. Alan is unnerved by the fact that Martin has met Ashley here. He has many questions and worries that someone might mistake him for his brother. Traci wonders if what he could find out about Martin could be worse than what he already knows about him.
He supposes he wants to know if there’s anyone out there he needs to apologize to. Traci says he needs to work on forgiving himself.
The Newman Tack House
Victoria, Johnny, and Katie try to decide what they should do first to make up for some of their lost family time together. The siblings suggest riding and swimming, and Victoria informs them Claire made a list of movies she wants to see.
Katie then said to go ahead without her. She shut down her mother’s attempts to get her to give her new sister a chance. She wonders why Claire is even living there, suggesting she could live at the Abbotts since she is a nanny for them.
The Newman Ranch
Victor and Nikki tell Nick they are extremely proud of the man he’s become. Victor then switches the topic to business and wants to know if he’s spoken with Victoria about returning to work at Newman Enterprises with him. He thought it unnecessary when he explained it since she said she decided to work with Nikki at Newman Media.
Victor clarifies and states again that this is not what he wants!
Nikki interprets that statement as meaning what she wants doesn’t matter!
The Genoa City Athletic Club Bar
Audra tracks down Kyle and wants to know why he left the Newman Ranch without telling them their decision. He says working together requires trust, and she suggests they start with mutual tolerance.
Kyle says, “No way in hell” is the answer.
Paris Restaurant
Alan claims Martin was his responsibility, and he should have found him before he put Ashley through all he did. He remembers a time when he and his twin shared everything.
Traci offers to let him share things with her, and she’ll help him put this burden down.
GCAC Bar
Audra wants to know if Kyle is turning down this position out of spite or ego. She agrees she did not fill Victor in on their past relationship and claims Victor always seems to know everything.
She truly regrets trying to manipulate him in the past but says she isn’t blind to a great opportunity like this when she sees it.
She suggests only someone born into money and power would do so. Finally, they can get what they want here, and she asks him to reconsider her offer.
The Newman Ranch
Victor explains that he cares about his wife’s thoughts. She demands to know why it has to be Adam who fills in for her. It’s her domain, and she has no input in the decision, which makes no sense.
Nick agrees with his mom, and Victor wonders how he could question his decisions after their mutually appreciative chat moments ago.
Paris Restaurant
Martin’s mental illness and his unwillingness to get help made him dangerous, not Alan, Traci continues. He agrees to try, but Traci says she is more insistent than that. She says he must go through the entire grieving process for his brother and this unfortunate situation.
She claims to have been through a few things during her life and has even written a few characters in her books who were psychologists. Alan says he wants to hear more about her, the beautiful woman he is having dinner with.
Newman Ranch
Nikki gets stern with her husband and claims putting Adam in her place at Newman Media is not best. Nick says he agrees with both of them but reminds his father that he put Nikki in charge for a reason.
Victor reminds them again this is not what he wants and exits the room and ignores Nikki as she repeatedly calls his name.
GCAC Bar
Audra gets sassy and begins to court Kyle, bragging about him being the best choice for the job since he comes from an empire such as Jabot. When he says things can go from bad to worse so quickly, Audra informs him that Victor has promised they would be the pair in charge of Glissade.
Kyle’s idea of complete control is not Victor having the ultimate power. She reminds him that Victor is not a man you want to say “No” to. Kyle reiterates that it would be her he is saying that to, not Victor.
She suggests he let go of this grudge and let her know what she can do to sway him.
Diane enters and finds their heads huddled together to be interesting.
Tack House
Victoria informs Katie that throwing Claire out is not an option. Johnny tells his sister to give her some slack. Victor knocks at the door to visit with Victoria and her family. He tells them about how he and their grandmother lost the Newman Ranch to a fire, and they built a new house and kept the family going.
Victor asks how it’s going having a new sister suddenly. He tells the grandkids about how Claire grew up without a family and the love that comes with one. He says that she simply wants those things in life. He stresses that they must all come together as a family to make her feel a welcomed part of theirs.
Victoria sighs in relief when Katie seems to buy what her grandfather is selling.
Society
Nick and Nikki head to Society. She is still ranting about Victor always having a soft spot for Adam.
Nick claims there seems to be more at play here and wonders if his father doesn’t buy that he and Adam are getting along now.
His statement makes Nikki wonder about that, which she didn’t before.
Paris Restaurant
Traci tries to circle back and talk about Alan and Martin, but he wants her to start from a long time ago with details about her life. He compliments her repeatedly about her accomplishments and for being the glue that holds the family together.
Traci brags about her father and claims his boundless love for them made him a giant. After he passed, the three of them became a solid pack. Traci then worries she has let Ashley down by not recognizing whatever happened to her during her childhood.
GCAC Bar
Audra claims it was purely a coincidence she ran into Kyle at the bar. She says she was attempting to make amends to anyone she may have hurt while under Tucker’s influence. Diane suggests the best way is to flourish despite him.
Audra informs her she wasn’t the one who got burned this time and that she has an amazing opportunity in front of her. Diane wonders if Audra is being highly motivated or desperate. On that note, Audra excuses herself but asks Kyle to remember what they spoke about.
Diane moves closer to her son and wants to know what is going on and what he needs to keep an open mind about.
Paris Restaurant
The pair agree to stop torturing themselves with guilt.
Traci continues to down the wine and suggests they form a little support group among themselves.
Alan claims faith in them and that they will get through this. She agrees they can if Ashley can.
Society
Nikki wonders if Victor may have given Adam this opportunity to distract him from his troubles with Connor. Nick doesn’t think so, but he is shocked his father would want to split him and Adam up when they are vibing so well together.
Nick suggests that Nikki not drive herself crazy trying to figure out Victor’s plans. He says she could focus on her charity work. She says that will be difficult, knowing Adam is worming his way in and won’t be willing to leave.
Nick doesn’t know what his father’s motives are, but he’s certain he has hidden motives. If Victor thinks she needs more time to heal, there is nothing anyone can do to change his mind. If someone is needed to step in for her, Adam is the perfect choice, he says.
Nikki wonders if she brought this on herself.
Tack House
Victoria can’t thank Victor enough for what he said to Katie. She’s grateful, but she wants to know why he opposed Nikki returning to Newman Media. He claims Adam can step in easily, but she claims they can do that just as easily.
He reminds her of everything Nikki has gone through recently and promises Adam will step aside when it is time for Nikki to return. He wants to know if Victoria will consider returning to Newman Enterprises.
She agrees to give it some serious consideration.
Ashley’s Paris Apartment
Traci and Alan return from having drinks. As Traci talks, Alan continues to be impressed.
Before leaving, he tells her how glad he is she decided to stay in Paris.
GCAC Bar
Diane doesn’t trust Audra and suggests that Kyle shouldn’t either.
She says she can see her son’s disdain for her because it’s written all over his face. She’s tried everything, but nothing gets through to him. She says they need to revisit this whole work dynamic when Jack returns from Paris.
She’s tried being his mother, friend, and superior, but nothing seems to work. She says she has an ultimatum for him: Get in line or get fired!
Society
Nick and Nikki agree to allow Victor to play his chess game with them and go along with things…for now.
GCAC Bar
Kyle wonders if his father would support her firing him if he didn’t get in line.
Diane claims her title as co-CEO and insists she can get Jack to side with her. She reminds him he’s been let go before, and it could happen again. The time for patience and warnings is over, she declares.
As she leaves, Victor walks in just in time to take advantage of the situation.
Victor incorrectly assumes that Kyle was informing his mother about moving on from Jabot. A disappointed Victor says he hates to see Kyle waste his talents where they aren’t appreciated.
Kyle agrees it might be time for a change.
Before they can celebrate, Kyle explains he has some concerns about Audra Charles. He refers to her as a professional backstabber. Kyle agrees to come on to Glissade but only as the sole CEO. He wonders what Victor needs with her if he has him.
