Things to Do in Milwaukee This Weekend: June 21-23 (2024)

1. Greek Fest

ALL WEEKEND | WISCONSIN STATE FAIR PARK

Annunciation Greek Church’s Greek Fest is back this weekend from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. There will be Greek dancers, live music, a raffle and more to celebrate Greek Culture.

2. QWERTYFEST

ALL WEEKEND | MULTIPLE LOCATIONS

QWERTYFEST is hosting its second-annual celebration of the typewriter, which was invented right here in Milwaukee. Expect a full weekend of typewriter-themed events, such as the Typewriter Ball, Friday June 21 with a performance from The Boston Typewriter Orchestra at 8:30 p.m. On Saturday there will be workshops and activities at the Charles Allis Museum from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., as well as the Whisky Type Party at Great Lakes Distillery with live music from the band Vox Starling at 7 p.m. For the full lineup of events visit QWERTYFEST’s website.

3. Gallery Talk: “Idris Khan: Repeat After Me”

FRIDAY FROM 12-1 P.M. | MILWAUKEE ART MUSEUM

This final galley talk for this exhibition is an in-depth discussion about the themes and intricacies of Idris Khan’s exhibition, “Repeat After Me.” This event is included in the Museum admission and free for members. Tickets will be available at the door or online.

4. Rivals: “World’s Worst Valentine Tour”

FRIDAY 8 P.M. | THE RAVE/EAGLES CLUB

Catch alt rock band Rivals on the last leg of their U.S tour at The Rave/Eagles Club. Celebrating the release of their new single “World’s Worst Valentine,” Rivals are making stops all over the East Coast and Midwest. Tickets are $20 and available online.

5. LoveMKE Summer Soulstice Celebration

FRIDAY FROM 7:30-11:30 A.M. | DEER DISTRICT

Curated by Kristen Wojahn and Britta Kramer, this event focuses on supporting mental and physical wellbeing through the lens of the summer solstice. Local mindfulness professionals will help guide attendees through meditation, a 75-minute vinyasa yoga class and ecstatic dance. There will also be a DJ and food from Flour Girl and Flame. 6. The Big Idea XI: The Future Is Now

FRIDAY 5 P.M. | UNITED COMMUNITY CENTER

Latino Arts inc. is hosting its opening reception for The Big Idea, a collection of students’ art. The students were given a single word to build their pieces, crafting a multitude of unique and individualized art. Admission to the event is free, but Latino Arts will accept donations. 7. ACL Professional Cornhole Event

FRIDAY TO SATURDAY | OAW INDOOR SPORTS COMPLEX

The American Cornhole League is coming back to Milwaukee this weekend. Watch a series of professional cornhole games between teams from all over the country on ESPN or live at OAW Indoor Sports Complex. On Saturday, the main courts will host the Pro National Singles Final and Pro Womens Singles with guest appearances from four NFL players, paired up with an ACL professional to take on their football rival. 8. Summerfest

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY | SUMMERFEST GROUNDS

The first weekend of Summerfest is here! Catch headliner acts like Motley Crue on Friday or SZA on Saturday, or bounce around the festival stages. Food and drink will be sold by multiple vendors on the festival grounds during the whole festival. Tickets are available now.

9. “Sun Goes Down Tour”

SATURDAY 5 P.M. | AMERICAN FAMILY FIELD

The “Sun Goes Down Tour” is coming to American Family Field, with headliner by Kenny Chesney and support from the Zac Brown Band, Megan Moroney and Uncle Kracker. Tickets can be purchased online.

10. Tacos and Tequila Fest

SATURDAY 2 P.M. | FRANKLIN FIELD

Alongside plenty of street tacos and refreshing margaritas, enjoy live music performances by Ludacris, Chamillionaire and more at Tacos and Tequila Fest. The full lineup and tickets can be found here. This event is 21+ only.

SATURDAY FROM 12-4 P.M. | GATHERING PLACE BREWING RIVERWEST

Celebrate the sixth year of Lager & Friends at Gathering Place Brewing this weekend, where attendees can sample over 40 kinds of lager from breweries all over the state. The festival also offers attendees complimentary food, merchandise and a coupon for any purchase in the taprooms. Ticket pricing starts at $45, and more information can be found online.

12. Senior Fest

SATURDAY FROM 8 A.M.-5 P.M. | HALES CORNER PARK

The Colins Insurance Group is throwing a day of festivities for older adults in Hales Corners. There will be live music, food, drinks and more. The Hales Corners Library will also have a table where attendees can get coupons to win free books from the festival’s book sale. More information about the event can be found here.

13. Toy Story In Concert

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY | BRADLEY SYMPHONY CENTER

The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra will be performing the Toy Story soundtrack live, accompanying a screening of the film. The performances begin Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are available now online.

14. Cedarburg Strawberry Festival

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY | DOWNTOWN CEDARBURG

From “Strawberry Alley” to a strawberry pancake breakfast, there is no shortage of the sweet fruit at this Cedarburg Festival. The two-day fest will have kids’ activities, vendors, food and more for attendees to explore. Its hours are Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. More information can be found at the festival’s website.

15. Bayshore Makers Market

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY | BAYSHORE MAKERS MARKET

This weekend at Bayshore Makers Market, find art from over 80 artists and makers while enjoying live music performances. All Bayshore restaurants are open during the Market and there will be plenty of food trucks stopping in the food truck alley. Plus, the Kids Zone will have face painting and more fun to explore. 16. Markie In Milwaukee

SUNDAY 6 P.M. | ORIENTAL THEATER

Celebrate Pride month with Markie in Milwaukee, a film about a 7-foot-tall fundamentalist Baptist minister, who comes out as transgender, ending her 20-year marriage and estranging her from her children and community. The film explores deep concepts of gender and LGBTQ+ identity, and director Matt Kliegman will be in attendance. Tickets are available online.

17. PhaseFest

SUNDAY | FRANKLIN FIELD

Phase Fest is a nod to early 2000s emo, rock and pop-rock music. Attendees can jam out to performances from bands like The Used, Story of the Year and more. Expect loud and lively entertainment accompanied by drink lounges, food vendors and a throwback video game lounge.
