Yeah, but most of the talk has been around Microsoft authentication. They already have it for work/school accounts (that's why my work email authenticated with no problems by going through the MS account login). They just have to enable the same thing with personal accounts.
Although it's not like they haven't had several years to do it. I don't know why they didn't just enable the MS authentication for all MS accounts back when they had more people working on it.
Maybe it's a separate license fee they have to pay MS per account type? Maybe that's why "work/school" is always treated different from "personal" outlook accounts? It's not just the BlackBerry Hub, but all email clients seem to have separate sign-in pages to start from depending on account type. Even though they all use the Exchange protocol and use 2FA.
MS has the same September deadline for the use of app passwords that Google has.
@max-bb will have to give us an update if Gmail accounts in the Hub are also getting updated to work with its 2FA, and without app passwords.Sent from my SM-S926U using Tapatalk

Hub+ has been updated and now supports modern authentication for outlook accounts. I have been able to incorporate my personal account again and I can now free myself from the outlook app.

No updates showing for me. Last version is still dated April 23.

Is this perhaps a beta release?
I don't know if they still have a beta channel, but usually that's why some get it but not others even after a whole day.
I saw last night that the new version was released as posted on Reddit.

I'm supposedly in the beta, according to Google Play. Haven't seen anything.

Well, someone else in the reddit tread said they didn't see the update, then joined the beta and suddenly saw the updates.
I'll wait.

It may just be going in stages. I left the beta, checked for an update and found none. Then just rejoined the beta. Still nothing.

I am a beta tester. I had pretty much forgotten that, since I hadn't seen anything for some time.
I hope it will see wide release soon.

Just got the update. Do the MS accounts have to be removed and readded or is all back end? I tried changing the authentication to Microsoft in the server settings but it still said that was reserved for work and school accounts. I guess I'll know if disconnects again or not.
Any word on whether GMail is going to continue to work? I'm set up with an app password right now and it's working fine.

Went with the beta tester route and got the update.
Deleted my accounts previously set up with Samsung Mail. Set up both my home and work email. Everything is back to the way it was before. Much cleaner and simple.
The only hiccup was while setting up the work account. Which was weird because work accounts had MS account sign-in for a while. For some reason, though, it kept automatically putting in the wrong server name. It kept tying to use the company domain name. It was supposed to be outlook.office365.com, so I had to manually change that and then it worked.

Add me to the list of folks waiting to see if they update Inbox to work with Gmail accounts... I got a new Google Pixel 9 and the app will not allow me to add Gmail accounts.
Right now I'm using Edison mail and it's "okay" for now.. but miss my BB inbox!08-29-24 09:15 PM
